Our LEGO Speed Champions 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 review digs into how well the racing bull translates into a bite-sized LEGO set.
77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 takes one of the most impressive cars from the Formula 1 line-up and shrinks it down in miniature, creating a little piece of a racing great that you can build and display yourself. Part of a line-up of 10 LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 cars hitting the track in March 2025, each one needs to bring something new to the table to earn its place in a crowded wave.
Can 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 hit the mark? Lights up and away we go with our in-depth review.

Streamlined is the name of the game

Although there's very little weight difference between it and the other sets, 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 feels the lightest in your hand when fully built. It does have the fewest pieces but only by a handful. The lightweight feel to the model comes down to the streamlined silhouette that it strikes, tapering in sharply by both of the wheel axes for an angular profile that aligns with its real-life counterpart.
Every Formula 1 car is sleek but 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 feels incredibly polished when complete. It's worth taking your time over the stickers on the flanks of the bodywork to ensure the red lines meet one another – a task made easier by the fact you do them in consecutive order (unlike 77242 Ferrari SF-24).
The rest of the stickers slide on easily, without needing to be split between too many separate elements. It's a mercy, for example, that the words 'Red Bull' are split across the two halves of the front wing.
The racing bull makes an impact...

Much of the car is made up of dark blue and black but there are some impressive printed elements that are gratefully not stickers. Trying to get the racing bull straight and aligned would make or break the final build, so the LEGO Speed Champions team skirted it entirely with sloped printed pieces for the all-important branding.
The bull imagery even carries through to the DRS, with a tail-like element used for the all-important system in a neat example of attention to detail that, whether intentional or not, rounds out the set nicely.
...but little else does

While those smaller details are fun to experience, there's not a whole lot else to say about 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20. The build experience is different to the other sets in the wave, that has to be said, but there's little that makes it truly stand out. Building the LEGO Speed Champions set is easy, without too much in the way of creative building techniques or clever use of parts.
Its lightweight and simple silhouette makes it easy to manoeuvre in the hand but it also means that it looks very much like a cookie-cutter Formula 1 car. Perhaps that's the impact of its source material; if that was always going to be the case, though, more attention should have been given to the build experience. The inner workings were over with quickly, which could have been an opportunity to play around with some fun building techniques that wouldn't have impacted the final look of the model.
That said, 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 will surely sell well. It can rely on the passion of Red Bull fans to fly off shelves. For Speed Champions fans wanting a rewarding Formula 1 build, however? There are better options out there, both in terms of style and build.
Honest opinion: 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 is sure to sell well among Formula 1 fans but doesn't offer a lot to Speed Champions enthusiasts.
