For that higher spend that unlocks two gifts-with-purchase, 40603 Wintertime Carriage Ride offers an intricate and fairly sizeable traditional carriage, complete with horse, driver and romantic couple. There is detailing throughout the carriage that speaks to its place within a winter/Christmas setting and for its size and colour scheme it certainly makes for a classic, grand addition to any such scene.
That being said, one area where it does somewhat disappoint is in the one-minifigure-wide seating in the carriage, where a two-wide carriage would have much better met expectations many of us would have otherwise had for such a vehicle.
That aside, though, there’s nothing to criticise in how this is built and designed – it comes together intelligently and interestingly, to make for a final model that works wonderfully.
