LEGO 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr could be bigger

LEGO 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr may be the ultimate The Lord of the Rings model but it doesn't compare to one custom creation.

While the 5,471-piece 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr is undoubtedly huge, it's not quite as big as Bricks_and_Bees' colossal recreation, though they still had a reason to pick up the new set.

The Reddit user recently showcased the official Barad-dûr in comparison to their take on the tower, which they estimate to be made up of between 15,000 and 20,000 pieces.

It's undoubtedly taller and likely cost much more than the £399.99 / $459.99 / €459.99 official set but it's still interesting to see what the LEGO Group's designers could have done with an unlimited budget and a hefty price point for the final model.

The lighting on the eye is particularly impressive, though 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr still manages to incorporate a light brick to a similar effect.

The interior is more spacious but currently isn't as impressive as 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr as Sauron and his forces have yet to furnish the massive custom build. Still, it's laid out similarly to 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr complete with lava at the bottom and a throne up the tower.

Those with less space and budget as the Reddit user can pick up the official 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr now for £399.99 / $459.99 / €459.99 and even they were tempted enough to pick it up thanks to the set's exclusive minifigures.

We've taken a closer look at these minifigures in a standalone review and you can see our tour of the rest of the build by clicking here.
