These deals are also timed perfectly to avoid the worst of the upcoming price increases, which are due to come into effect on August 1 in the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region, and on September 1 in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. US retailer Barnes & Noble has already provided a first glimpse at what to expect from those inflated prices, with sets like 71043 Hogwarts Castle and 75313 AT-AT facing the most significant jumps.
The initial list of affected sets should therefore be a useful ally for strategically planning your purchases during this double VIP points event, especially if there are specific products on your wish list. After all, whether they’re discounted or not, this could well be the best deal you’ll ever find on some of the LEGO Group’s biggest and best sets.
We don’t yet know whether the discounts on 10290 Pickup Truck, 76216 Iron Man Armoury and so on will continue beyond today (they could revert back to full price as soon as Amazon Prime Day ends), but double VIP points will only be available until the end of play July 13.
