A new era of Jurassic World is rumoured to begin with a movie said to be currently in development by the writer of the original Jurassic Park.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new Jurassic World movie is in development with David Koepp on board as a writer. Koepp is the writer of the original Jurassic Park as well as The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Rumour has it that Universal Pictures is aiming for a 2025 release date at the time of writing, though this should be taken with caution. Frank Marshall is believed to be the producer after his work on the past three Jurassic World films.
It sounds like this movie could follow Jurassic World: Dominion as it is stated to launch a 'new Jurassic era' with a fresh story, possibly meaning that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard's characters may not return. It's also rumoured that there would be no returning actors from the original Jurassic Park movies, which played a key part in Jurassic World: Dominion's story.
In the universe of Jurassic World, dinosaurs now roam the earth and society is learning to live alongside them, or suffer the consequences as life will always find a way. It will be interesting to see how this massive change affects the future of the franchise, provided the rumours of this new movie are accurate.
