Released at the start of this year, 10297 Boutique Hotel is a lavishly detailed addition to any LEGO Modular Buildings street scene. The set typically retails for £199.99, but John Lewis are currently selling it for £149.99 instead. That’s a saving of 25% on the RRP.

While a LEGO hotel has appeared in the Modular Buildings Collection before – in fact, it was the very first example – this LEGO set is a significant improvement. It offers a tasteful colour scheme (with some rare colours) interesting geometry and an extensive level of interior detail. It also offers a small art gallery around the corner – reflecting the tendency of Modular Buildings to include multiple structures in one set.
The ground floor of the hotel features the front desk, complete with room keys, a luggage trolley and a comfortable sofa. The first floor, meanwhile, offers a pair of guest rooms – which offer niceties such as wardrobes, bedside lamps and even a typewriter. There’s also a small bar outside, which comes with a palm tree to add some colour and detail.
The top floor of the hotel features a luxurious room with a double bed, a bathroom and a television. There’s even a complimentary chocolate on the pillow, leaving you with no doubt as to where you’re staying.
Outside the hotel is a small coffee cart to keep hotel guests energised, and seven minifigures (including two hotel staff) are on hand to populate the set. With Modular Buildings some of the more expensive sets in the current LEGO lineup – and hard to find outside of LEGO.com – this discount is a rare opportunity for LEGO fans.
