James May recently took to his YouTube channel, accompanied by digital producer Lucy Brown, to do just that, having just 45 minutes to fully complete the 10+ LEGO Speed Champions model. During the challenge, the duo had to sort through various parts from eight different bags, work out how to combine them and present the finished
In 2009, the gin impresario built a full-size, two-storey house entirely out of over 3.3 million LEGO bricks for his series, James May’s Toy Stories. The massive model boasted a functional shower, toilet and bed, breaking the record for the largest free-standing LEGO structure assembled to date, although it has since been demolished.
During the challenge, James first incorrectly assembled the wheelbase of one car, frustrations grew and there was an eventual dawning realisation that the build contained not one but two different LEGO Speed Champions vehicles.
