'Is it just me?': LEGO Spider-Verse fever surges – for those who can find them

LEGO 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been on shelves for just over a day, but some are already struggling to track them down.

The latest collectible series, 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars, debuted to a lacklustre reception among both LEGO and Formula 1 fans, with there being a lot more potential than what ended up on shelves. Thankfully, that hasn't led to a drop-off in enthusiasm for the theme as a whole, with Spider-Verse fever taking over following the launch of 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

One redditor shared an image of an empty retail stand on September 1, on the very day of release, highlighting that people have been quick to buy out any and all minifigure boxes that they can get their hands on.

In the UK, not one but two people (plus all the people agreeing in the comments) have shared that it's virtually impossible to find 71050 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in stores.

"I have been to many different shops in my town that I have seen selling the Collectible Minifigures before (Asda, B&M, Waterstones, WHSmiths, and others) and not a SINGLE ONE had the Spider-Man [series]," wrote Big_famous_youtuber. "There was another person in there looking for them too, and the employee said they didn’t have any."

"Just me struggling to find the new CMF release ANYWHERE?" added Tasty_Expression_320 in a separate post. Those in the comments also based in the UK shared their struggles, with one person commenting: "I work in a supermarket that was due to get them last week, [but] we are still yet to receive any."

It seems many third-party retailers in the UK are struggling to stock them. If you are heading out to hunt for them, make sure you've got the best tool in your arsenal, Brick Search's best ever minifigure scanner, to find the minifigures you're looking for, available now on Android and iOS. If you don't fancy hunting, there's still time to pre-order either a box of 36 or a complete set of 12 via Brick Deals.
