How to make a LEGO Fortnite glider

Gliders are an integral part of Fortnite and you can build your own in LEGO Fortnite, but making one is harder than you would expect.

Throughout your adventures in LEGO Fortnite, you'll likely suffer some fall damage as you brave cliffs and other heights. You can save yourself from being eliminated with a LEGO Fortnite glider. With the few tutorials offered in-game though, you may not have learned how to make one.

Thankfully, it's not too difficult once you've built the right crafting stations and learned the recipe. Here's how you can make a glider in LEGO Fortnite.

Build a crafting bench

The first step to making a glider in LEGO Fortnite is to build a crafting bench. We've used sandbox mode for this guide, but you can still see what resources you'll need in the images. Wood can be found on the ground or by destroying trees and granite is similarly available on the ground or by breaking rocks with a pickaxe.

Gather resources

For the next few steps, you'll need some resources that can be hard to find for those starting from scratch in LEGO Fortnite. You can refer back to this step to find out where you can find each of the required items.

Knotroot is featured in caves as roots protruding from the ceiling and walls but some of these roots will only offer regular wood. You'll need an uncommon axe to destroy knotroot sources. Marble can be found in caves too from rocks and gathered using an uncommon pickaxe. Wool can be found by petting sheep and you don't need to punch them to gather it. Flexwood is featured in deserts and can be collected by using a rare axe on cacti.

Sand claws and sand shells are from eliminating Sand Rollers and Sand Wolves in the desert biome. They're tough so you may need to bring an NPC with you to fight.

Upgrade your crafting bench

You'll need to upgrade your crafting bench to rare to learn the glider recipe. Select the right menu and upgrade it twice before moving to the next step. Make sure you have the right resources too.

Build a loom

A loom is needed to learn the glider recipe using flexwood and sand claws. Once you've built and placed one as well as upgraded your crafting bench to rare, you'll learn the recipe for the glider.

Make and equip your new glider

All you need to do now is craft a glider at a rare crafting bench with flexwood rods, silk fabric and wood fabric. Flexwood rods are made from flexwood at a lumber mill (one of the first crafting stations you'll make in LEGO Fortnite).

Silk fabric is made using a loom from silk threads made at a spinning wheel using silk. Silk is dropped by spiders, which should be easy to find everywhere. Wool Fabric is made the same way but with wool thread using wool from sheep.

Once you've crafted your glider, equip it on the right-most area of the equipment section in your inventory, jump off somewhere high and press the jump button again to glide away.

Note that while there are many gliders available to purchase with in-game currency in Fortnite, the glider in LEGO Fortnite uses a simple brick-built design and it cannot be customised at the time of writing. Several skins have LEGO styles but that has not currently been confirmed to extend to the gliders.
