The exclusive minifigure selection in 43222 Disney Castle is a bit less exclusive now thanks to 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage.
Released for the 100th anniversary of Disney, 43222 Disney Castle revisits the build first seen in 71040 Disney Castle but opted for princes and princesses rather than Mickey Mouse and friends. This includes Snow White, Prince Florian, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Tiana, Prince Naveen, Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder. Of these, Princess Tiana was the only non-exclusive minifigure at launch thanks to 71038 Disney 100.
Two more of those minifigures are no longer exclusive with the upcoming launch of 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage on March 1 for £189.99 in the UK, $219.99 in the US and €219.99 in Europe. Snow White and Prince Florian's minifigures both feature in the new LEGO Disney set for a fraction of the price.
While five of the eight minifigures remain exclusive to 43222 Disney Castle, the LEGO Group have been quick to include some of these characters in other sets. That may mean that the other five are not quite as exclusive as first expected. It's also worth noting that 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage includes one of 43227 Villain Icons' exclusive minifigures too.
The reveal of 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage showcases that detailed one-off models based on specific Disney movies can exist. This could present an opportunity for the likes of Cinderella, Prince Charming, Prince Naveen, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider to be included in more sets based on their stories in the future.
It could also be that the LEGO Group doesn't wish to make the minifigures in 43222 Disney Castle any less exclusive, though there are two cases of such precedent now.
43222 Disney Castle is available now for £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 and 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage launches on March 1 for £189.99 in the UK, $219.99 in the US and €219.99 in Europe.
