How does LEGO Star Wars Venator compare to a UCS Star Destroyer?

LEGO Star Wars 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser looks an impressive set, but how does it compare to 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer?

We got our first good look at the upcoming 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser earlier today, with images of the long-rumoured LEGO Star Wars set having been taken at a Malaysian airport store. The early release of the model showcases the size and scale of the Ultimate Collector Series build, giving fans a long-awaited glimpse of what to expect from its arrival at some point this year.

Clocking in at 5,374-pieces and measuring 109cm in length and 32cm in height, the LEGO Star Wars model may retail for around £500 when it finally releases, although there’s been no official confirmation of the set’s existence so far.

Featuring plenty of attention-to-detail, an epic scale and what looks to be two exclusive minifigures, 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser certainly seems to be an impressive model in its own right. However, how does the upcoming LEGO Star Wars set compare to a similar and massive UCS build, 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer?

Measuring 110cm in length and 37cm tall, the now-retired 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer only just beats its Clone Wars era counterpart in terms of size, although the two sets should make for impressive side-by-side display pieces – if you have the space, that is. Where 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser really shines though is its 5,374-piece count, which easily trumps the 4,784 elements that make up 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer.

Both ships feature multiple tiny turbolaser cannons, hangars for smaller included ships to fit inside, huge rear engines, primarily grey elements in their overall construction and sturdy display stands. Likewise, 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser and 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer also come with two exclusive minifigures each, although we suspect the former’s line-up may prove more controversial.

As soon as we have word from the LEGO Group regarding a confirmed release date and global pricing for 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, we’ll be sure to let you know.
