A second pair of the Brick Clog shoes has been spotted online, with a lime green Friends and Family version of the LEGO x Crocs offering out in the wild.
Despite derision from many LEGO fans and mixed to negative reviews, the first collaboration between the LEGO Group and Crocs appears to have been a huge success. Now, following in the footsteps of the sold out £199.99 / $199.99 / €199.99 shoes, comes word of a secret Friends and Family variant of 5010203 Brick Clog that’s been produced in an eye-catching new colourway.
Self-proclaimed Crocs King and Instagram-user doogielish has posted images of a very rare take on the Brick Clog, one that was apparently sent out as an exclusive PR package to a select few. The lime green shoes appear to come in the same red box as the standard promotional version of the footwear, but boast an alternate colour scheme that some may well prefer.
Sneaker companies often issue limited-edition iterations of their products as Friends and Family exclusives, which are usually intended to be rare gifts not aimed at a mass market audience and only available in extremely small numbers.
The secret Friends and Family Brick Clog also popped up on thedropdate’s Instagram feed, with Crocs commenting, ‘that green is fireeeee,' and the colour of the shoe variant matches that of a second LEGO minifigure promotional set based on the collectible footwear.
The sold out 5010203 Brick Clog is currently going for big bucks on the secondary market, with some listings for the LEGO x Crocs as high as £250 on eBay. While it’s not been revealed how many of the secret green shoes exist, assuming there are even less of the Friends and Family in existence, there’s no saying how much they might sell for.
The red Brick Clog is merely the first release from the multi-year partnership between the LEGO Group and Crocs, with future drops to include a number of Jibbitz charms and the next release arriving sometime this spring.
