Five details we’ve spotted in LEGO Animal Crossing 2024 sets

Following the official reveal of LEGO Animal Crossing sets for 2024, here are five details we’ve already spotted in the upcoming builds.

The curtain was pulled back on the first LEGO Animal Crossing sets yesterday, with five such models all scheduled for release on March 1, 2024. Based on the popular Nintendo simulation series of the same name, the colourful builds pack in a wealth of detail and unique minifigure designs, which are likely to prove extremely popular with the game’s devoted fanbase, despite some initial negative reactions.

Each LEGO Animal Crossing set can be connected to other models in the theme, allowing for plenty of customisation and decoration options. For instance, it’ll be possible to swap baseplates and other elements between builds or simply connect the five playsets together to make one massive LEGO Animal Crossing island environment.

With so much to spot in the upcoming LEGO Animal Crossing sets, we’re shining a spotlight on five unique details that we’ve already found in the 2024 builds:

5 – Multiple new elements

In the official LEGO Animal Crossing listings, the ability to customise each model is flagged up as a key selling point. Builders are encouraged to adapt and change the look of their sets and can do so with unique new elements such as arch windows, swappable doors and tree stumps with roots pieces.

4 – Tom Nook’s bag of bells

That rascally profiteer Tom Nook is present and correct in 77050 Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House, with his shop packed with all sorts of tempting purchasable items. Check out Tom’s bulging bag of bells, DIY recipe cards, fish bait and acorns, all of which appear to be new printed elements.

3 – Where’s K.K. Slider?

Despite a plethora of familiar faces being included with the LEGO Animal Crossing sets, there’s one main character that’s strangely missing from the initial line-up of minifigures. Musician K.K. Slider is conspicuous by his absence, although an image of the dog musician can be seen on what looks to be a printed tile in 77048 Kapp’n’s Island Boat Tour.

2 – Bubblegum beats

Island residents Francine and Chrissy are both featured on what may be another new printed piece, a Bubblegum K.K. album cover. Included in 77050 Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House, the image is a reference to a J-pop-themed song created by K.K. Slider that first appeared in 2012’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

1 – Handy vaulting pole

One of the many useful items included with 77047 Bunnie’s Outdoor Activities is a vaulting pole, allowing the peppy rabbit villager to cross a small river with ease. The craftable tool was added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2020, as bridges were scarce when players started a new game.
