First look at LEGO Animal Crossing summer 2024 wave

A short video has offered our first look at two LEGO Animal Crossing sets that are expected to release in August 2024.

In a post to what appears to be the official Instagram account for LEGO Hong Kong, we've got our first look at two LEGO Animal Crossing sets, believed to be coming this summer on August 1, 2024. The two new sets, 77052 K.K.'s Concert at the Plaze and 77051 Fly with Dodo Airlines, revealed in digital snapshots at the end of the video will recreate the game’s familiar Town Hall building and include Audie, another iteration of Isabelle, and the dog DJ K.K. Slider as minifigures. The second set looks to be inspired by the New Horizon Airport, featuring minifigures of the orange-themed cat Tangy and Dodo Airlines pilot Wilbur.

K.K. gets quite a lot of screen time in the short clip, with the majority of the video spent panning around him sitting on a log with a guitar, singing along to a tune. The spotlight on the dog DJ evokes his appearance in the Animal Crossing game.

The sets themselves appear to be fairly sizable, with the Town Hall including various side builds like a van, a bandstand for performances, and a stall for tea and refreshments. Similarly, the airport comes complete with a buildable plane, as well as a dock and some crab-infested scenery.

While no sprices have yet been revealed, this reveal does highlight that there are several minifigure newcomers: Audie, K.K., Tangy and Wilbur. With a massive cast of animal characters in the game, there are plenty more areas for the LEGO Animal Crossing theme to go down the line and it's good to see that more waves are being planned.
