A new variant of the LEGO Store grand opening set has been revealed, moving from Krakow to Manchester for the re-opening of the Arndale store.
The LEGO Store Manchester Arndale recently re-opened after moving to a larger unit within the shopping centre, and one member of the Brick Fanatics team was able to attend the event and partake in the celebrations, including a new and exclusive grand opening set.
Those spending £150 or more at the store from June 12 to 15 (or while stocks last) will receive a free 6588947 Manchester Grand Opening, as long as they're a LEGO Insiders member. This is a new variant on the 2025 store grand opening set, first spotted at the AFI Cotroceni store, and most recently receiving another variant for the Krakow store last month.
The 158-piece set is nearly identical to the other variants, aside from a new render on the instructions and a tile for the Manchester store. Three minifigures are included in the set, but the store employee's torso has been swapped for a standard suit. Most of these changes are not exclusive to the Manchester Arndale model and were also featured in the Krakow build.
The store re-opening event also included a giveaway of a rare tile for the Manchester stores, which was also given away at the grand opening of the Trafford Centre location. That event did not include the 6588947 Manchester Grand Opening set, but offered 40528 LEGO Brand Retail Store instead.
Though the Manchester Arndale store has only moved to an adjacent unit within the shopping centre, the updated location has received a few notable updates, including a mural paying tribute to central Manchester, complete with an elevated train, a row of houses, and a pigeon, but not using the new piece for summer 2025.
According to an event listing on the official online store, another re-opening gift-with-purchase will be offered starting on Monday. It's stated that 40528 LEGO Brand Retail Store will be offered with purchases of £120 or more from June 16 to 18, no LEGO Insiders membership required.
