Every huge double dinosaur LEGO Jurassic World set so far

A double dose of LEGO Jurassic World dinosaurs can take up much of a set's budget, and such builds have a common trend to keep them sizable.

LEGO Jurassic World's next range of sets (many of which have received some price increases) includes another pricey model with a double dose of dinosaurs and a sizable build, the volume of which is undoubtedly impacted by the two huge figures. 76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission isn't the first model of this concept in LEGO Jurassic World, though. Such sets have become fairly common, allowing us to compare the offerings in each.

We're only counting sets that include at least one dinosaur using multiple elements as big as a T. rex and a second that's at least as big as the older Velociraptor as entries in this collection, but this requirement doesn't limit the number of entries. Nearly all of them have something in common, too, with only one outlier so far.

75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate

Pieces: 1,019 Price: £119.99 / $129.99 / €129.99 Minifigures: 6

Jurassic World: Dominion's 75930 Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate focuses on the Indoraptor figure with only a smaller Velociraptor to accompany it. This means that the manor model can consequently maintain a sizable facade with some decorations, but the thin interior and four empty rooms are the seemingly necessary sacrifices for the two big dinosaur figures.

75941 Indominus rex vs. Ankylosaurus

Pieces: 537 Price: £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99 Minifigures: 5

Instead of depicting a facade, 75941 Indominus rex vs. Ankylosaurus's approximately 500-piece build recreates one of the attractions from Jurassic World with a relevant function to accompany it. Unlike most of the models on this list, 75941 Indominus rex vs. Ankylosaurus' two giant dinosaur figures don't stop this build from feeling complete, but it's not quite as big as the usual buildings by comparison.

76949 Giganotosaurus & Therizinosaurus Attack

Pieces: 810 Price: £119.99 / $139.99 / €139.99 Minifigures: 6

LEGO Jurassic World 76949 Giganotosaurus & Therizinosaurus Attack similarly focuses on a building facade with a research lab as well as a smaller watchtower and helicopter. The two LEGO dinosaur figures are some of the biggest in the collection overall and aside from the facade-centric builds, don't seem to have affected the budget as much as other entries.

76961 Visitor Centre: T. rex & Raptor Attack

Pieces: 693 Price: £114.99 / $129.99 / €129.99 Minifigures: 6

The first and only recreation of Jurassic Park's iconic Visitor Centre is next, with just under 700 pieces making up a T. rex skeleton and the building itself. As stated in our review, the compromises to accommodate the T. rex and Velociraptor figures are much more noticeable as the building is smaller than you'd expect for this location and with another thin interior space.

76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission

Pieces: 984 Price: £139.99 / $159.99 / €149.99 Minifigures: 4

The upcoming 76976 Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission falls under the facade category too, with another thin build, but one that looks to be giving LEGO Adventurers and Indiana Jones a run for their money. The model is rife with traps and obstacles and even accommodates a space for the Quetzalcoatlus on top – not something that any other set in the collection can boast. A truck and helicopter accompany the model, as well as the two dinosaur figures.

Looking at four of the five builds in the selection, facades seem to be the predominant tactic for the LEGO Jurassic World team in recent years to ensure that the duo of larger figures can be included within budget. Despite this similarity, they're all substantially different in terms of their locations and side builds. Look forward to the next LEGO Jurassic World sets later this summer, even though prices have gone up.
