Star Wars: The Acolyte will grace not one but two upcoming Empire movie magazine covers due to arrive this month.
We had our first look at Star Wars: The Acolyte last month, when a trailer for the upcoming Disney+ live-action series finally dropped. The show is set during the High Republic era, 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, and will introduce a whole new cast of Force users to fans of a galaxy far, far away.
Star Wars: The Acolyte is due to debut on the streaming service on June 4, with the first two (of eight) episodes arriving on the same day. The cast of stars includes Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
In advance of the series arriving, Empire magazine will be taking a deep-dive into the show, speaking to creator and showrunner Leslye Headland about her vision for bringing the story to the small screen. “It’s one story with several reveals, and new clues and new information each episode,” says Headland. “It’s going to keep you on the edge of your toes, wanting to guess.”
In addition, Empire has created two exclusive Star Wars: The Acolyte covers, with the issue also promising a sprawling assortment of Jedi, smugglers, assassins and witches, plus a new interview with Rey Skywalker herself, Daisy Ridley.

To promote the series, Empire will be publishing a newsstand edition with Amandla Stenberg’s mysterious Mae with her knives out on the cover, ready for action – flanked by three incoming Jedi: Lee Jung-jae’s Master Sol, Carrie-Anne Moss’ Master Indara, and Joonas Suotamo’s Wookiee Jedi, Kelnacca. A second subscriber-only cover will feature a striking illustration of a Force-fight between Mae and Master Indara.
You’ll be able to read everything you need to know about Star Wars: The Acolyte when the June issue of Empire arrives on April 11. The series will premiere on Disney+ on June 4, but there’s currently no word regarding any potential LEGO Star Wars sets that might be based on the show.
