Released in 2022, 10297 Boutique Hotel was designed to celebrate LEGO's 15th Anniversary of modular buildings. It features a fresh and unique European-inspired design which deviates from the typical 'blocky' buildings fans had come to expect from the modular series. The luxury accommodation boasts a bold angled footprint for its main building, and even includes a tiny art gallery next-door.
The completed 3,066-piece build showcases a striking colour scheme, with layers resembling a cake - especially on the first floor where light nougat elements are used. 10278 Police Station is a beautiful pale brick building released in 2021, comprising three sections: the doughnut shop, the police station, and a narrow sand green building that serves as an extension. The ground floor houses the news stand, complete with newspapers and small floral details. The compact doughnut shop includes rows of baked goods and a cash register. The upper floor functions as the owner's studio flat, furnished with only the essentials.
The clever use of jumper plates, tan pillars, and brick columns give the police station building a rich texture, which is further enhanced with printed police tiles and angled blue sections. Charming additions to the exterior include a bird enjoying a doughnut on the window sill, and stacks of green splat gears used as decorative bushes. Entering the police station reveals an entrance lobby with a desk manned by a junior officer. The staircase stands out for its impressive technique using facet bricks and triangular tiling. The second floor houses an interrogation room with a wall-mounted tape recorder, along with a storeroom. The top floor accommodates office desks with printed typewriters and telephones, as well as a studio for mugshots.
The set is made up of just under 3,000 pieces and, like the other buildings in the range, contains a wealth of detail and a number of story based easter eggs to find as the build progresses.
