If you're still unconvinced about LEGO Zelda 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, this custom build might be the answer you've been looking for.
LEGO Zelda 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle has renewed interest in LEGO The Legend of Zelda. There are only two official sets based on the franchise, and many have been put off the first, 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, by its high price point at £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99 for 2,500 pieces.
That makes 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle all the more tempting, at £99.99 / $129.99 / €119.99 for 1,003 pieces. There's also no pieces wasted in the latest Zelda reveal, whereas the 2-in-1 nature of the first set leaves a substantial number of elements unused.
If you're after a wider LEGO Zelda display to flesh 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle out, 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 has a fairly steep price of entry. However, it's now not your only option. A custom LEGO Great Deku Tree build from Brad Barber on Rebrickable (who you might know from his many, many Millennium Falcon rebuilds) offers a way to get an Ocarina of Time Great Deku Tree for a fraction of the price.
All you need is a copy of 10281 Bonsai Tree (currently discounted by 24% to just £33.99 at Amazon in the UK) and Brad's $5 instructions, and you can have a Great Deku Tree in its Ocarina of Time style, complete with tiny details from the Great Deku dungeon inside.
It comes on an adapted base, decorated with earthy tiles to recreate the forest floor. It doesn't look like it would be too tricky to physically connect it to the similar black base of 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle, creating one OOT diorama or display.
Rather than fork out more than five times as much for 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, Brad's custom build is a much more wallet-friendly way to expand your Zelda display beyond 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle.
If you do want to stick to official LEGO Zelda builds, it's worth noting that 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 retires at the end of July, so there's not a ton of time to pick up the first-ever set based on the franchise. In the meantime, 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle is available to pre-order at LEGO.com for £99.99 in the UK, $129.99 in the US, and €119.99 in Europe.
