The best way to build part of LEGO Pokémon's biggest set

We've found the best way to build Venusaur, the first part of LEGO Pokémon's biggest set: with the game that started it all.

LEGO Pokémon's massive 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise is just a couple of weeks away from launching, and to get ready for release day, we're building the first part of the set in the best possible way.

Watch our new video to explore the early stages of LEGO Venusaur and learn about one of the games that started this colossal franchise.

72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise has been quick to sell out during the pre-order phase, fetching high prices on the secondary market. The 6,838-piece model is one of the biggest and most expensive LEGO sets of all time, and will cost you £579.99 / $649.99 / €649.99.

The build is made up of the final stages of the first three partner (or starter) Pokémon. Each can be displayed on a provided display stand, the three of which combine to form one massive model. Stay tuned for our full review of the biggest LEGO Pokémon set, and enjoy watching us put the build together on our YouTube channel.

The first three LEGO Pokémon sets are launching on February 27, 2026, alongside a LEGO Insiders reward and gift-with-purchase exclusive to 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise.
