Similar to the modular buildings and the rest of the Marvel building models, 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion's footprint consists of three 16x32 baseplates that can be separated or smoothly attached to one another to form a complete X-Mansion. As is tradition with the Marvel modulars, there's quite a few exclusive minifigures to look forward to.

As well as the usual suspects including Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue and Storm, Magneto returns in his classic outfit and the set features the debut of Gambit, Jean Grey, Bishop, Iceman and Professor X. It's an exciting minifigure selection that is also accompanied by a motorcycle, a Sentinel and the mansion itself using 3,093 pieces.

You can pick up 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion starting November 1 (for LEGO Insiders) for £289.99 / $329.99 / €329.99. The building is designed to fit in on a modular street with the compatible pavement, lamp posts and Technic pin connection points, though it's not quite on the same scale as the modular buildings.

76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion gift-with-purchase

Picking up 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion on day one will net you a free 5009015 Cerebro. The free set is designed to be displayed alongside the mansion and comes with a second Professor X minifigure too. There is a Cerebro build in 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion, but while that one is based on the comics and animated series, 5009015 Cerebro is inspired by the films.

As well as the Professor X minifigure, 5009015 Cerebro comes with a piece referencing another X-Men minifigure too, though they're not included physically in any set at the time of writing. It's supposed to be available with purchases of 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion until November 7 but you can likely expect it to sell out in the first few days based on previous exclusive gifts-with-purchase.

What people are saying about 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion

LEGO Marvel 76294 X Men The X Mansion featured 1 1024x576

Early reviews for 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion are positive overall, praising the minifigure selection and references especially. Some reviews note the many missing characters and minimal amount of minifigures compared to other Marvel buildings, though the number of new minifigures is comparable.

The price is also compared to 21353 The Botanical Garden, which is at the same price for nearly 1,000 pieces more. It suggests that the Marvel licensing comes at a cost and early reviews all take note of the £289.99 / $329.99 / €329.99 price tag. Thankfully, the price-per-part ratio is still decent and this set is one to save up for, or buy on day one for the free gift.

"If the interior of the X-Mansion is for story and character, the front exterior is for play and action, thanks primarily to the huge buildable Sentinel included in the set, but also due to some clever build techniques dotted around the building that speak to the level of chaos and destruction that the X-Men and this Sentinel create when they clash."
