43179 Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters was first released in mid-2020, and offers brick-built models of Mickey and Minnie themselves. These models are considerably larger than previous LEGO versions of the characters; at their peak, they measure 36cm tall. New curving elements were introduced for this set that allows the shape of their limbs to be captured more effectively.
Drawing inspiration from their earlier film appearances, Mickey and Minnie appear in red shorts and a red skirt respectively. Printed elements and inventive parts use allow their looks to be replicated with a high degree of accuracy. Each character comes with a brick-built accessory to hold: Mickey has a cigar-box guitar, while Minnie has a bouquet of flowers. There’s also a brick-built camera and a photo album to position between them.
To aid stability, Mickey and Minnie are each positioned on top of a display stand that mimics a piece of film strip. These are decorated with the official signatures for each character, and should make them even more enticing to Disney fans. The set is due to be discontinued by the end of this year, so this may be your last chance to pick this set up at a discount.
