43242 Snow White Cottage offers the latest noseless LEGO Disney minifigures

LEGO Disney 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage is the latest in the design team's many recent challenges for Disney minifigures.

The upcoming 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage features 10 minifigures including the first minifigures of Doc, Dopey, Bashful, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy and Sneezy. These minifigures are missing one key component of their designs and it comes across as a unique visual experience.

Despite the missing oversized noses, there's no doubt that the team have managed to pull off the character's personalities via the face designs. We still don't envy the challenge of recreating these seven characters on top of other recent Disney minifigures though.

These seven minifigures in 43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage aren't the only ones missing noses to fit with the uniform minifigure design, thanks in no small part to the recent 100th anniversary of Disney. Considering what else the LEGO Disney team might have had on their plate might allow you to appreciate the dwarfs' designs more.

On top of Doc, Dopey, Bashful, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy and Sneezy, both the Queen of Hearts from 71038 Disney 100 and Carl Fredricksen from 43217 'Up' House lack their signature noses, which is befitting of LEGO minifigures.

Flipping the script, Pinnochio and Jiminy Cricket have all of their facial features and it has been confirmed that it was a 'complicated' issue for the wooden character. Still, it was almost certainly a challenge to make both of their noses work on a standard minifigure and Pinnochio even required a brand new piece.

It can't have been too easy tackling the minifigure design of so many characters for the 100th anniversary of Disney and in the months after do the same for a massive Snow White model, despite the fact LEGO sets and minifigures are designed years in advance.

Even considering that the LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures and minifigures in standard Disney sets may have been designed by different teams, it's still a lot of characters to adapt while keeping their signature appearances.

43242 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' Cottage launches on March 1 for LEGO Insiders, before receiving a wider launch on March 4. You can expect to find it on shelves and online for £189.99 in the UK, $219.99 in the US and €219.99 in Europe.
