He said: 'We know our model isn't perfect but if the idea gets the support of 10,000 people then LEGO's designers would polish it and at some point it could go on general sale. What's nice about the model is that it will appeal to all ages. LEGO can be put together in any fashion and this means children can innovate and be inspired in science and engineering.'
'There are a few Red Arrows models out there already but we are keen to stress that this is our own creation and we have tried to use the ethos that the team stands for in its development. "For this LEGO Ideas submission, we have captured the passion and excitement of the Red Arrows and constructed the iconic BAE Systems Hawk T1 aircraft (powered by a Rolls-Royce engine) out of LEGO parts.'
At the time of posting, the Red Arrows Hawk LEGO Ideas project has 953 supporters.
